Waltz Across Brooklyn

from The Pause by Pursesnatchers

/

about

I wrote and recorded this as a voice memo, in June, 2019. I re-recorded it in April-May, 2020, and got really ambitious with the arrangement. Then I thought it sucked and went back to original vibe.

lyrics

Mean what you say
But don’t say it so mean
Memory repeats
Like a false harmony

I’m as hopeless as one man can be
Come and waltz across Brooklyn with me
Nobody cares where you are when you’re dancing with me

A dam broke in you
Then it broke in me too
There’s no unseeing the dead
When they sleep in your room

I’m as hopeless as one man can be
Come and waltz across Brooklyn with me
Nobody cares where you are when you’re dancing with me
